Selected Experience
Schloss Solitude, Stuttgart, Germany 2008:  Accepted to the biannual composition academy/conference at the Schloss Solitude. Activities included lectures on contemporary issues in music, as well as my own musical research. Performance and recording of Ichos, for string quartet, by Ensemble Surplus. Attended individual lessons, and group analysis, with Chaya Czernowin(Israel), Stephen Kazuo Takasugi(USA), and Ole Lutzow Holm(Norway/Sweden).

Acanthes International Festival of New Music, Metz, France, 2005:  Accepted as a student of musical composition to the annual Acanthes Summer Academy. Attended ndividual lessons, and group analysis, with composers Pascal Dusapin(France), Wolfgang Rhim(Germany), and Hilda Peredes(Mexico). Public performance, and broadcast, of Ichos by The Arditti String Quartet and Radio France.

Composers Kitchen, Montreal, Quebec 2005:  Invited to participate in this biannual event hosted by Montreal’s Bozzini Sting Quartet. Activities included lecture and conferencing on contemporary music issues with other composers as well as experimentation with the Bozzini on extended sounds for strings. Developed sketches for a new piece, which were performed for the public.

 Generation 2003-2004:  Accepted to participate in L’Ensemble Contemporain de Montreal’s biannual event. The program happens in three stages: 1) composers work publicly with the group, and lecture/discuss their intentions, as well as demonstrate sounds and excerpts they wish to use in an upcoming musical work; 2) composers write a new piece over the following year; 3) a five stop tour across Canada in which the composers introduce the new piece. Introduction is followed by a performance by the ECM. The program received much press coverage including interviews, and broadcasts, by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation with producer Larry Lake.

Musica Nova International Festival of New Music, Sofia, Bulgaria 2002:  Invited as guest composer to attend performances of two new works: Stations for solo harpsichord and Island for string quartet. Duties included a public lecture, interviews with Bulgarian National Television and Radio Performances were recorded and broadcast by Bulgarian National Radio.
